I’m Funked Up
After leading some of the most fabulous women through an invigorating workout this morning,
I felt a surge of energy that I haven’t felt in a long time…
and I had to share some of my motivational love with you…
I know it may be hard to believe, but though my “job” is to motivate others…
I sometimes am the one that needs motivation and a swift kick in the pants.
I’ll be honest with you, the last few weeks, I’ve been in a funk.
And I’ve hated it.
I hurt my back which put me on the sidelines of a
new workout routine I was just getting excited about.
I’ve had a few unexpected curveballs personally
and professionally that have been thrown my way.
And in the mix, striving to be the best mom I can to EJ,
my 4-month old son while balancing a business and other obligations.
BUT…this isn’t an email to lament or complain to you (I promise!)…
but I’m thinking that for any of you in a “funk”…
maybe this will spur some of that motivation that lies deep inside you.
This morning I posted this on Facebook and I got a lot of “Cyberlove” from my friends
(Thanks guys!):
******
It’s Monday morning.
Imagine the person you’ll be at the end of the week.
Will you be proud of the decisions you’ve made, the goals you’ve set and accomplished?
Will you have exercised with purpose?
Eaten deliciously and healthfully?
Spent time with those you love?
Taken time for self-love?
Will you be happy with the person you are or frustrated by another week gone by without being the best version of yourself?
The best part is: it’s all up to you – no one else!!!
******
I was actually posting this more of a reminder to myself…
and I was just hoping that it might inspire some of my friends too.
“Funks” are bound to happen. That’s life. I accept that.
What gives us character and defines who we are is how we climb out of those deep, dark places.
Do I try to go it alone?
Or do I rally my strongest supporters, coaches, friends and family to help me?
Am I just going through the motions?
Or am I taking action on my goals and doing all things with purpose?
Am I just “being”?
Or am I striving to be the absolute best version of myself?
I always remind myself that there are people out there
going through a heck of a lot more than I am…and I am so blessed!
So here is my challenge to you: take a moment to envision
the person you’ll be on Sunday.
Are you proud of yourself for committing to your workouts,
making good food choices?
Or are you kicking yourself for “not having willpower”
and taking the easy way out with excuses of “next week” I’ll start?
Are you feeling fulfilled because you spent
quality time with those you love, including yourself?
Or are you empty and sad because you spent more time on other “stuff.”
Promise yourself that you will be the best version of yourself this week.
Do it! You will feel A-MA-ZING!
Can’t wait to hear all about it!
Until next time, I’m out of my funk,
ready to be the best version of ME,
so I can support you be the best version of YOU!
